Trip Synopsis

January 29,2010

Arrive in the U.K. today from Nairobi, Kenya. Our time there was quite an experience. The orphanage will be up and running within the next two weeks. We are looking for a location to build a new clinic for the Kericho area. We had several meetings with the Minister of Industrialisation. We discussed what Care Highway can do in this area. It was a very successful trip.

Day 9

DAY 9 Organized and packed supplies for medical camp in Kericho. We are on the road today, driving to Kericho to the orphanage. The road is a little rough but handled easily by our 4 wheel drive. Looking forward to seeing the locals involved with the orphanage.

Day 7 - Nairobi

January 25, 2010-DAY 7. Hot weather continues. Many meetings today. Much legal work needed to transport orphans form one city to another. Tomorrow we leave Nairobi with the medical team and drive to Kericho , several miles away. Still interviewing people for the orphanage staff.

January 24, 2010- DAY 6. Visiting and evaluating our projects in Kibera. Finding another 15 kids for our preschool in Kibera. Days are very hot 95 to 100 degrees. Medical team arriving tomorrow then we will have a small medical camp to treat the people. Tuesday we will leave Kibera and travel north to Kericho and the orphanage. We are brainstorming ideas to set up a sponsoring program for teachers and students in the preschool in Kibera.

Care Highway's New Van!

DAY 5. Great news! Today we found a 4-wheel drive Toyota van for the orphanage! It was a good buy. Hope to soon complete interviews for the orphanage staff. No internet access so have to relay this news.

REPORTING FROM KENYA

DAY 1 (Jan.20) Arrived safely in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. The purpose of the trip is to open the CARE HIGHWAY INTERNATIONAL ORPHANAGE in Kericho, Kenya.

DAY 2. Had lots of meetings today with people involved with the opening of the orphanage.

DAY 3. Still in Nairobi, visited the Care Highway preschool in Kibera. Found everything in good order and running smoothly. Will begin looking for new students to replace those who will go to the orphanage in Kericho.

DAY 4. Spent much time looking for a vehicle to purchase for the orphanage. Roads are a little better, but still want a 4-wheel drive vehicle.
